I’m a fine art photographer, professional ecologist, and avid outdoor explorer. I make and share photos but also aim to learn and teach about nature and science in the process. My work captures the outdoor world in detail and at scale — from broad landscapes to the intricate textures found in nature’s hidden corners. I specialize in a range of genres including landscape, abstract, nature, rural, urban, and wildlife photography, primarily focused on the Appalachian Region of the United States (and sometimes beyond). I offer premium fine art photography prints on a variety of media such as fine art paper, metal, and canvas.

I bring a variety of science-based content with my imagery. This includes species identification, natural history, ecology, geological and physical processes, practical uses, and more. My weekly email newsletter, Trail Sharp, is aimed at casual outdoor explorers interested in photography and science.

I also specialize in drone photography and videography as well as story-telling commercial photography for businesses and other organizations. I build my photography projects around the story of my clients businesses, projects, properties, and products. My process is driven by creativity, composition, an eye for impactful perspective, and the power of story-telling.  I am a Part 107 commercial drone pilot certified by the FAA and carry general/professional and drone liability insurance policies.

I am a freelance photographer from Zanesville, Ohio USA.  My passion is photojournalism. Life is an incredible adventure, and I was put here on earth to photograph it!  To Record history for future generations. I am a graduate of The Art institute of Pittsburgh with a major in digital photography. I am a visual artist and member of The Professional Photographers of Ohio and The Professional Photographers of America. I have been shooting for over twenty years for the local paper, my hometown photography business, and for the city of Zanesville, Ohio, The American Red Cross, The American Cancer Society, The Free Masons of The State of Ohio, and too many other numerus organizations to mention. I also capture weddings, family photos, babies, senior pictures, corporate head shots, etc.
