Carol is a fiber artist who focuses on making woven rugs and table accessories from salvaged materials, such as mill end rolls from textile manufacturers. She enjoys the challenge of taking random colors and patterns of fabric and combining it with a variety of warp colors and weaving patterns to create art that becomes part of your everyday life.
She also uses wood from a variety of salvaged sources to create decorative and useful works, such as trays, wood animal silhouettes, and more.
Carol is also the managing partner at The Elk’s Eye Art Market which is located in the former Elk’s Lodge in downtown Zanesville. Carol and her daughters purchased the out of use building with the intent of providing a market that will bring the work of multiple artists into one place for convenient shopping. The Market hosts approximately 30 artists and maintains regular business for shoppers' convenience.

My art is a representation of the world I want to create around myself and others. I paint with bright colors and contrast to promote happiness not only for myself but also for those around me. Art and singing have always helped me work through depression and hard situations. I paint with Acrylics and mixed media. I do a lot of murals, pet portraits, nature, animals and women in harmony. Some local murals I’ve done are located on the side of my building, Colony Square Mall, Zane’s Landing pavilion and at Geminis on the second floor. In the warmer months I let artist set up for free outside and will often have live music. Hours of operation are First Friday ArtWalks Year-Round 5pm-9pm and open by appointment.

Monica Crawford is an inventive mixed media artist who creates colorful, fresh, and eclectic paintings by combining collage with watercolor and/or acrylic paint. Her inspiration comes from the shapes, colors, and patterns found in nature. She often incorporates an abstract or fanciful interpretation of plants, flowers, birds or fish as a primary focal point or as background elements.
Her visually rich paintings arise from a belief that rediscovering our innate connection to nature is an essential counterbalance to our industrialized and technology-focused society. Exploration through experimentation and play is fundamental to her work. Her paintings often contain intriguing marks made with a palette knife or unusual found objects.
Monica has been exhibiting her artwork at the ZAAP Gallery in Zanesville and was the featured artist there in May 2023. Her work is often shown in other regional venues including The Toll House Art & Gift Shop, MCLS (Muskingum County Library), BunkoJess, and The Works. She is a member of ZAAP, ArtCoz, Coshocton Art Guild, and SEOWS (Southeast Ohio Water Media Society).
